On Saturday, October 18 a group of folks ran all over Deer Creek Hills in Rancho Murieta, CA. We ran the Barn Pond Loop with a short detour to the Boiler Pond. While enjoying the scenery and getting some good exercise, everyone learned techniques for coexisting on the trail with mountain lions, bears, and snakes.
Special thanks to the Sacramento Valley Conservancy for helping coordinate the event, and to Save the Snakes for educating us on how to coexist with snakes, even bringing a gopher snake and a rattlesnake for us to meet!
